SOS Button
What It Does
The SOS button is a one-tap emergency alert that:
- Shares your live location with emergency contacts
- Notifies JamDrive support immediately
- Provides your trip details (driver info, route, vehicle)
How to Use It
Trigger the SOS Button
- During any ride, tap the red SOS button on the ride screen
- Confirm the emergency
- Your location is shared immediately
- Support will contact you within seconds
When to Use It
- You feel unsafe during a ride
- The driver is behaving inappropriately
- You're in an accident
- Any situation where you need immediate help
Ride Sharing
How to Share Your Ride
- During a ride, tap "Share Trip"
- Choose a contact or share via WhatsApp, SMS, or social media
- The recipient gets a live tracking link
- They can see your real-time location, driver info, and route
What the Recipient Sees
- Your current location on a map
- Driver name, photo, and vehicle details
- Pickup and destination addresses
- Estimated arrival time
- Trip status (in progress, completed)
When to Share
- Riding alone, especially at night
- Late-night rides
- First time using a new driver
- Any time you want someone to know where you are
Female Driver Preference
What It Is
Passengers can request a female driver for their ride. This is a safety feature for passengers who feel more comfortable with a female driver.
How to Use It
- When booking, toggle "Female Driver" preference
- The system will match you with a female driver (when available)
- If no female drivers are nearby, you'll be notified
When It's Available
- Not always available in all areas
- More likely during daytime hours
- Dependent on female driver availability in your area
Driver Verification
What JamDrive Checks
Every driver on the platform goes through:
- Background check — Criminal record, driving history
- License verification — Valid driver's license
- Vehicle inspection — Registration, insurance, roadworthiness
- Identity verification — Government ID matching
- Photo verification — Current profile photo
What You Can Check
Before your ride, you can see:
- Driver's name and photo
- Vehicle details (make, model, color, plate number)
- Driver rating (from other passengers)
- Verification status

Set Up Emergency Contacts
- Go to Profile > Safety > Emergency Contacts
- Add contacts (friends, family, or both)
- These contacts are:
- Notified when you trigger SOS
- Can see your live location during rides
- Can be called directly from the app
Recommended Setup
- Add at least 2 emergency contacts
- Include someone nearby who can respond quickly
- Make sure contacts have the JamDrive app or can receive SMS
What to Do in Different Situations
- Stay calm — Most rides are completely safe
- Share your trip — Tap "Share Trip" to let someone know where you are
- Call your emergency contact — Use the in-app phone feature
- Use SOS — If the situation is serious, tap the SOS button
- Ask to be let out — You can ask the driver to stop at any time
- Report after — File a report through the app immediately
- Check the map — See if it's a reasonable alternate route
- Message the driver — "Hey, the GPS says we're going the wrong way"
- Call the driver — Use the in-app phone feature
- Share your trip — Let someone else know what's happening
- Report after — If the route was clearly wrong, report it
- Go to Trip History
- Find the trip
- Tap "Contact Driver" to call or message them
- Arrange to meet or have the item delivered
- If you can't reach the driver, contact support: 876-JAM-DRIVE
- Don't panic — this is rare
- You won't be charged for the cancelled portion
- A new driver is assigned automatically
- If no drivers are available, contact support
- Check for injuries — Your safety first
- Call 119 — Jamaica emergency services
- Tap SOS — Notify your emergency contacts
- Stay in the car if it's safer than getting out
- Take photos — If safe to do so
- Report to JamDrive — Support will assist with next steps
- Get medical attention — Even if you feel fine, get checked
- Card declined — Switch to cash payment if possible
- Overcharged — Report through the app for review
- Wrong amount — Contact support with trip details
- Promo code not working — Check code validity and expiration
Reporting Issues
How to Report
File a Report
- Go to Profile > Trip History
- Find the trip you want to report
- Tap "Report Issue" or "Get Help"
- Select the issue type:
- Safety concern
- Payment issue
- Lost item
- Driver behavior
- Route dispute
- Other
- Describe the issue in detail
- Submit — Support reviews within 24-48 hours
What Happens After You Report
- Support reviews your report
- The driver may be contacted for their side
- Investigation results are shared with you
- Appropriate action is taken (warning, suspension, etc.)
- You may receive a refund or credit if applicable

A: Yes. Every driver passes background checks, license verification, and identity verification before being approved.

A: You can cancel the ride before it starts. If you're already in the car, ask to be let out at a safe location and use the SOS button.

A: Your trip data is shared only with your emergency contacts (if you enable it) and JamDrive support. It's not shared with third parties.
Payments
Q: Is my card information secure?
A: Yes. Cards are processed by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified). JamDrive never stores your full card number.
Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Contact support with your trip details. Refunds are evaluated case by case.
Q: What if I'm charged after cancelling?
A: Cancellation fees apply after 2 minutes. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact support.

Q: How do I update my phone number?
A: Go to Profile > Settings > Phone Number. You'll need to verify the new number via SMS.
Q: How do I delete my account?
A: Contact support at support@jamdriveja.com. Your data will be deleted within 30 days.
Q: Is JamDrive available in my area?
A: JamDrive is currently available in Kingston and surrounding areas, with expansion planned across Jamaica.
